Hi, and if you are reading this, I’m so glad you are here! I am the lead therapist at Self First Therapy. A name and mission I feel so strongly about- putting yourself first.

In todays busy society, this is hard. We struggle to find the time or use excuses to not focus on our well-being. Many of us give too much to others and do not leave anything for ourselves. I founded my practice on the premise to provide a space where my clients can have time for themselves, be rid of distractions for a little while, and boost their mental health.

My Background

I am a Social Worker first, and a Psychotherapist second. My background in social work allows me to see and understand my clients holistically, not just focus on one part of them. I have clinical experience in many settings as well as experience working with many age groups and issue areas. I enjoy working in private practice as this brings me my own balance in life. I am licensed to practice in Texas and can serve all Texans across the state virtually. I have been trained in certain treatment modalities such as Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and utilizing the Enneagram in therapy.

I am a native Texan and received my education from The University of Texas at Austin. I have a Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology and a Masters of Science degree in Clinical Social Work. When I am not working with clients, you can find me learning about new things, traveling as much as possible, hiking and being in nature, eating good food, and spending time with my husband and our dog.

“No person, no place, and no thing has any power over us, for we are the only thinkers in our mind. We create our experiences, our reality, and everyone in it. When we create peace and harmony and balance in our mind, we will find it in our lives.”

— Louise Hay
